We help businesses report figures they can stand behind

ESGen pairs ESG reporting software with a team that does the reading for you. We work with UK manufacturers answering their customers' questions and with Indian companies reporting BRSR, and every figure we produce keeps the evidence behind it.

Three students, a few factory projects and a gap nobody was filling

We started ESGen in 2025 at Birmingham City University. The three of us, Kunj, Janvi and Lalit, were students there and shared the same view of sustainability: it should reach the small firms that make things, not only the large companies that buy from them.

Together we worked on projects with manufacturing companies in the UK. On each one we saw the same pattern. Smaller firms were being asked for carbon and ESG figures, and the large ESG providers charged them a lot while giving them little of their attention.

That gap became ESGen. Before building anything, we studied what small and medium-sized firms in the UK and India are actually asked for, by customers, tenders, lenders and regulators, and built the platform and our service around those requests. We want local manufacturers in both countries to grow, and reporting should help them do it rather than hold them back.

Built for the UK and India from the start

We work with UK manufacturing firms answering customer questionnaires, tenders and requests for a Carbon Reduction Plan, and with Indian companies reporting to SEBI's BRSR and BRSR Core. Both sets of rules sit in the same platform, and neither is bolted on to the other.

The platform measures Scope 1 and 2 from UK electricity, gas, diesel, petrol and staff-car mileage using the UK government's conversion factors, and adds the upstream energy share of Scope 3. Our team does the work that needs judgement: Carbon Reduction Plans, SECR and VSME reports, questionnaire answers and checks on the wording of your claims.

Kunj Vimalkumar Patel

Co-founder and CEO

Kunj leads ESGen, building practical systems that help businesses collect, validate and use their sustainability data for reporting and decision-making. He holds an International MBA from Birmingham City University.

Janvi, Co-founder and COO of ESGen Limited

Janvi

Co-founder and COO

Janvi runs ESGen's operations, making sure every client's energy, emissions and supplier data is collected, checked and documented. Before ESGen she led compliance-driven operations on the UK's ECO and Great British Insulation Scheme energy-efficiency programmes, overseeing more than 50 staff and contractors. She has written operating procedures for a steel fabrication business and researched solar-powered irrigation for smallholder farmers in Bangladesh. Lalit Rajora, Co-founder and CMO of ESGen Limited

Lalit Rajora

Co-founder and CMO

Lalit leads ESGen's marketing and growth, from how the company explains ESG reporting to manufacturers to the outreach that brings in each new client. Lalit brings business development experience from Simple Green Energy and market analysis from Fine Casting Decor, and holds an International MBA from Birmingham City University.

The principles behind every figure we produce

Show the source

A figure that cannot be traced to its bill, its conversion factor and its calculation is not worth reporting. Every number in ESGen keeps its evidence.

Claim only what we can show

We never state a client, certificate or price we cannot evidence, and we say plainly when something is on our roadmap rather than live.

Work for the firm being asked

Our users are the suppliers answering the questions, not the large companies sending them. We write for a busy manager, not a specialist.

People are part of the product

Our team works inside your workspace. Help from a person is part of the service, not a fallback when the software falls short.

We work alongside GPEC-X, our consultancy partner, so every client gets the right specialist for the work.
